Event #6 - ADLUMIN Learn About Data Breaches from a NSA Hacking Squadron Commander

Cyber Attacks continue to escalate in all industries including School. Most breached customers have updated cyber security tools in place while attackers invade networks for weeks without discovery. In this presentation we will discuss what’s missing. Adlumin was built by one of the top Incident responders in the world who built tool kits for the US military, and a Commander of a NSA hacking squadron. Adlumin has built in UEBA (User and Entity Behavior Analytics) that hunts down anomalies that attackers can’t hide from. Take the best SIEM technology and add a professional security team (SOC) to monitor your systems 24 x 7. Adlumin – Intruders can’t hide in the light.

This will your chance to listen and interact with Tim Evan to get into the mind of a hacker. Find out how networks of of our foreign advisories were breached by the NSA, and how you can prevent them from breaching you.

Event #5 - WIRELESS LAN PROS Designing for 802.11ax Networks

When 802.11 and 802.11a/b/g networks were installed in our buildings, it was up to architects or electricians to decide where to install wireless modems/routers, WAPs or whatever they wanted to call our beloved Access Points [APs]. In today's worlds, we can no longer let them or interior designers place our AP's, we need a proper design and with 802.11ax flooding our networks, we need to be educated on best practices.

This two hour session will cover the challenges faced by IT and network administrators when deciding where and how to place APs on their buildings. We will cover Wi-Fi basics and deep into design practices that will make your Wi-Fi work more efficiently.

Event #13 - WILLIAMSBURG LEARNING P6 Teamwork from Hijacked to Well-Oiled Machine

Our workday gets hijacked when others don’t plan or communicate, making it difficult for us to plan, decreasing our effectiveness, and increasing our stress. In this presentation, I share a series of policy, project, process, procedure, planning, and productivity tools our school has used to create a well-oiled machine.

As an online school, we’ve had a distributed workforce for over a decade - well before Covid made it a necessity for many professionals. We’ve researched the best tools for organizing work and getting things done among colleagues who in many cases have never met in person. The key has been creating a shared culture and mindset around our work that has increased our team's productivity, facilitated effective planning around shared goals, and kept us from getting hijacked from poor project management or miscommunication. We seek to instill in every team member a project and productivity mindset. All projects are fully tasked out months in advance. Everyone is working towards common goals using shared, well-understood tools Policies, projects, processes, procedures, planning, and productivity tools - the 6 "P's" may sound mundane at first, but they create shared culture, mindset, and expectations about how we work together. Policies provide shared expectations and boundaries. Projects require us to draft a blueprint before we build, notifying staff of their needed involvement weeks or months in advance. Processes are templates for recurring projects and facilitate continuous improvement and "success on repeat." Procedures help us deliver on our promises error-free the first time. Every seat. Every process. Allowing us to delegate and scale. Planning on an annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily basis with a different lens for each ensures that we're working together towards the same goals and getting done what matters most. Productivity tools gleaned from experts including Inbox Zero, OHIO, Do-Delegate-or-Defer, Unique Ability, Highest & Best Use, L10 meetings, to name a few, ensure we're maximizing our time and efficiency. In this presentation, I’ll share the principles, concepts, and tools gathered from a decade of productivity research by our team.

In line with this purpose, UETN seeks to bridge the gap between education and telehealth by providing school nurses with telehealth technology, in order to perform virtual visits and asses the health of students remotely. School nurses play a vital role in schools and communities by providing a number of services including direct care of student, chronic disease management, screenings, and now COVID-19 related duties among other things. UETN has partnered with 19Labs to deliver approximately 175 telehealth kits to 21 rural school districts in Utah. This presentation will provide an overview of the school-based telehealth project and introduce the mobile telehealth equipment used to make this project successful.

Event #31 - LEARNPLATFORM Evolving With Evidence

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1dcx56tEXWDgJC9xSQ1mauDpidUjpJyGwYo05xys957c/edit?usp=sharing

The Critical Role of Network, IT, and Tech Departments in UT LEAs

With so much money supporting technology initiatives, administrators need to get the most out of their IT spend and understand how edtech products are working for educators and students. Join us to hear how IT departments can lead work involving data and evidence with use cases from UT and beyond.

Many LEAs are rethinking the role of network, IT, and tech departments to ensure greater alignment with overall strategy and learning plans. These groups can bridge the gap between traditional operational functions of IT and instructional groups such as C&I and content-focused teams. Additionally, IT and tech staff have the ability to foster a mindset that recognizes technology as a tool for learners and educators to continuously innovate and grow. As IT staff roles evolve from being the technology gatekeepers to being technology enablers, it is imperative that they and others are empowered to address the curricular and business needs of each department within a school district. Join us to learn how network, IT, and tech departments can embrace this evolution with a focus on evidence to drive understanding of edtech effectiveness. LearnPlatform works with hundreds of LEAs of all shapes and sizes to equip leaders in this space with the tools to get the most out of your edtech portfolio, and as a state-supported platform, you can too with no LEA funds needed. You will hear stories from the field and take away practical resources you can use today.
